Intriguing and Believable—Conspiracy or Not
*I received this novel from the authors, but my review is unbiased.
Stranger in the Crowd by J.L. Moore and Elizabeth Caunter hooked me from the start.
I enjoyed the fast-paced suspense, believable story, visible setting, and intriguing characters.
Desperate for cash, TC Beaudreaux accepts a mysterious interview request. He hopes the story will save his job and his life. But he questions his sanity when he sees the private jet.
Tension builds as the man named John takes his time relaying details of his fascinating past and current life in East Texas. But TC doesn’t have time for a tour of Dangerfield. A crazed killer has tracked him down.
As John’s story unfolds, TC’s not sure of its validity. Has he risked everything for a conspiracy story? He can’t shake the evidence and John’s uncanny resemblance to a famous dead man. An intense ending leaves TC with a prize-winning story and a lump in his throat.
Rarely does a novel hold my attention throughout and make me ponder the possibility.
A well-deserved five stars.
